The Yeongdo Lighthouse Mermaid was unveiled in 2004 and stands a few feet directly in front of the lighthouse, facing Japan. The lighthouse is located inside the Taejongdae Park, which is surpassingly beautiful, with magnificent cliffs and spectacular views. The lighthouse itself is several hundred feet above the water, and is part of the park itself.
