The Department of the Navy in Brasil have a replica of Copenhagen's statue of The Little Mermaid. An investigation as to how and when it got there was done by Eric Royer Stoner, and it seems it was donated to Brazil in 1960, and was placed just outside the Brasilian Navy Headquarters building. map
The mermaid statue appears to be a faithful replica of the original. There is a plaque on the base of the sculpture which has the outline of an anchor, with a number of emblems or symbols forming the arms of the anchor, and text which reads:

The emblems and symbols forming the arms of the anchor are hard to read, but form the list of friends.
This is one of the many copies of Edvard Eriksen's original mermaid statue placed in Copenhagen harbor in 1913.
