In the 1984 Disney movie Splash, Madison (the mermaid played by Daryl Hannah) gives this mermaid fountain to her human lover Allen (Tom Hanks), getting it actually installed inside his apartment. The fountain has been on display at Disney's Hollywood Studios for many years. map
The fountain was created in fiberglass by the Walt Disney Studios Scenic Shop using molds originally created for the movie Herbie Goes Bananas.
