On the tiny island of Little French Key in Honduras my good friend Steve Simonson spotted this mermaid with dolphins and was kind enough to take photos. It turns out that this is a replica of the sculpture in La Paz, Mexico, by José Kuri Breña. map
Part of the Bay Islands chain, Little French Key is a privately owned island resort offering many excursions and activities in a paradise setting. The island prides itself on being eco-friendly and carbon-neutral, and very involved in rescuing animals in distress – all in addition to providing a fabulous vacation setting.
The island has an impressive amount of sculptures in various spots around the island, including giant seahorses, some classical sculpture replicas, and of course this mermaid sculpture.
