Cowes Mermaid on the Isle of Wight

A mermaid sculpture by Jonathan Wylder was placed in Cowes to celebrate the completion of the Royal Yacht Squadron’s Jubilee Haven.  It is also in memory of Lord Grantham who who presided over the Yacht Club's first meeting in 1815, and whose yacht was called “Mermaid”.  map

The mermaid is located on the rocks on the north side of the docks for the Yach Club, greeting ships as they pass or come in.
